AAA General Manager Rey Mysterio announced that there will be a tournament held between Raw, Smackdown, and AAA stars where the winner will face WWE World Heavyweight champion Roman Reigns.
The title defense will headline Raw live from Mexico City on Monday, September 14.
Mysterio met Reigns at Gorilla on Monday night during the conclusion of Raw and wanted to run something by him, which Reigns agreed to. Raw went off the air with the two walking out of the frame.
There were rumors that Reigns would be added to a show which will go head-to-head with AEW but it ended up being to main event the first Raw from Mexico in 15 years.
Tournament details or participants were not announced.
