For the second time, the Camping World Stadium will be hosting WrestleMania, 9 years after WWE took WrestleMania 24 to the same location, then known as the Citrus Bowl.
Located in downtown Orlando, the stadium is the home of the Buffalo Wild Wings Citrus Bowl and the Russell Athletic Bowl as well as a host of several college football games including the Florida Classic.
Built in 1936 for $115,000 – or the equivalent of $2 million in today’s money – the stadium was renovated and expanded multiple times, most recently in 2014. The last renovation cost a total of $207 million. It is owned by the city of Orlando.
Before the 2014 renovation, there were a total of 65,000 permanent seats, with the ability to add temporary bleachers in the north end zone of the stadium. After the renovation, fixed seating was reduced to 60,219 due to the introduction of chair-back seats in the lower bowl and Plaza Level. Temporary bleachers can still be added in the Plaza level in place of the Party Deck to increase the capacity to 65,194. WWE still holds the record attendance inside the stadium for WrestleMania XXIV which saw 74,635 fans.
Since the stadium now holds less people. WWE is expected to announce a lower number than the 74,000 figure, which was inflated to begin with.
