There are a lot of rumors circulating about Anthem putting up TNA for sale, a move which many see to be inevitable.
While officially there’s nothing to confirm these rumors, some industry insiders are reporting that Leonard Asper, the founder and CEO of Anthem Sports & Entertainment, is looking to recover the money his company pumped into TNA.
Anthem is said to be looking for around $40 to $50 million plus debt assumption for TNA. In comparison, AOL Time Warner sold WCW for $4.2 million in 2001.
While TKO Group would look the more likely to explore a deal considering their previous working relationship with TNA, it is highly unlikely that they would pay that sum. The video library is TNA’s most important asset and something which would be a very welcomed addition to the thousands of hours stored in the WWE Vault.
TNA is currently undergoing a restructuring process, with quite a few people losing their job as part of their reduction in force, fueling more speculation that it’s being prepped up for an eventual sale.
