WWE Universal champion Brock Lesnar will have to wait until January 8, 2019 to fight again in the UFC as USADA finally confirmed that Lesnar re-entered the testing pool on July 3.
USADA, which handles all the in and out-of-competition drug testing for the UFC, released a statement saying, “After receiving notice of his intent to compete in the UFC, Brock Lesnar re-entered the testing pool on July 3. With six months and four days remaining on his period of ineligibility, Lesnar will be able to compete on or after January 8, 2019, should he remain in compliance with the UFC Anti-Doping Policy.”
The former UFC Heavyweight champion was suspended for 12 months in mid-2016 after he failed two drug tests for his UFC 200 fight against Mark Hunt. His win on that night was turned into a no contest. His first fight back with the UFC will be against Daniel Cormier for the UFC Heavyweight title.
