Diamond Dallas Page appeared on CNN with Anderson Cooper today to talk about why he is not reopening his gym tomorrow as Georgia Governor Brian Kemp announced that gyms and fitness centers will be able to open for business again on Friday.
Page said that he’s lucky in the sense that his DDP Yoga business sells DVDs and an app that you can use at home and doesn’t require you to necessarily go to his gym but being 64 years old, he’s erring on the side of caution and has no interest in mingling with other people at the moment unless there’s some concrete change or evidence that the pandemic has slowed down.
DDP added that gyms will have to rethink how they do business and will have to think outside the box to survive as civilization will take a long time to return to normal, at least until there’s a vaccine against COVID-19.
The WWE Hall of Famer said that he applied for the government scheme to get money for his gym but said he didn’t hear back and doesn’t know of any small businesses that received any money.
