Brandon Thurston of Wrestlenomics is reporting that this year’s AEW All In which was held at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas drew much less attendance than initially reported.
AEW President Tony Khan said that the figure was close to 29,000 during the post-show press conference but Thurston said that official documentation by the City of Arlington show that there were 21,973 fans in attendance and a total number of 23,759 which includes employees, vendors etc.
As for suites, 678 tickets were sold but only 274 showed up for the show.
Since AEW had applied for around $1 million in state and local funds to cover the show based on initial projections of a higher turnout, the City of Arlington said that AEW’s reimbursement will be proportionally less since it fell short of expectations.
The 21,973 attendance would still be classified as AEW’s largest attendance in the United States, but falls way short of previous All In shows at Wembley Stadium, with this year’s show drawing 50% less than last year’s.
