WWE fired a total of 22 WWE Superstars and Performance Center developmental trainees in total this week, the first mass layoffs of in-ring talent since early 2022.
Those who unfortunately got their pink slip were, in alphabetical order, Alexis Gray, Aliyah, Brooklyn Barrow, Dabba Kato, Dana Brooke, Dolph Ziggler, Elias, Emma, Ikemen Jiro, Kevin Ventura-Cortez, Mace, Mansoor, Matt Riddle, Melanie Brzezinski, Mustafa Ali, Quincy Elliot, Rick Boogz, Riddick Moss, Shanky, Shelton Benjamin, Top Dolla, and Yulisa Leon.
The biggest names on the list are obviously Matt Riddle and Dolph Ziggler while Mustafa Ali, who previously publicly asked for his WWE release, was doing well in NXT and had an NXT North American title shot lined up at No Mercy next week.
These layoffs follow what was an ugly week the previous week with over 100 employees getting fired from WWE Headquarters in Stamford, Connecticut following the merger with Endeavor.
Endeavor is looking for up to $100 million in cost-saving measures from WWE so it’s highly likely that more layoffs are on the horizon.
