Glenn “Kane” Jacobs announced that he is seeking reelection as Knox County Mayor and appointed a treasurer on Monday to kick start his campaign.
Jacobs has a year left in his term and the Republican primary will take place in May of next year while the election is held three months later in August 2022.
“Four years ago, I pledged to stay true to my conservative values as Mayor. Nobody could have envisioned a pandemic and the economic shutdown that followed, but I’m proud Knox County has been able to weather the storm without a tax increase,” Jacobs said. “By tightening our belt and making smart cuts, we balanced our budget while continuing to make forward-thinking investments in our community. If reelected, the public can expect four more years of leadership with conservative values top of mind.”
He said that it has been the honor of his life to serve as Knox County Mayor. “I would appreciate your support and your vote,” he added.
Jacobs still reprises his role as Kane occasionally on WWE television. His recent appearance was at the Royal Rumble and was eliminated by Damien Priest. He donates the money he receives from his WWE appearances.
