Gabbi Tuft, the former WWE Superstar Tyler Reks who recently transitioned to a woman, appeared on Extra TV yesterday for her post-transition interview with Billy Bush.
Tuft said that when she was 10 years old and her parents were not home, she would sneak in her mom’s closet and try out her clothes. “But I suppressed it my whole life, just because of society, knowing that people didn’t accept it. So I pushed it down as far as I could,” Tuft said.
With her wife Priscilla by her side, Gabbi told Bush that their intimate life has now changed “quite a bit” and they’re “active in that way right now” although they did discover a whole different part of their relationship. “We actually don’t have partners outside of the relationship at all,” Priscilla added. “I was a virgin when we got married 18 and a half years ago — we had never kissed. Our first kiss was on our wedding day.”
Gabbi said that transitioning to a woman has been anything but easy, saying there were a lot of very difficult and traumatic emotions in trying to figure out how to present herself to the world but credited her wife for her support.
The two also have a nine-year-old daughter together and Gabbi described how the discussion with her daughter went. “I told her, ‘Sweetheart, I’m not going to go out in public right now and go outside,’ and she goes, ‘Why, daddy?’ ‘I’m afraid that people might make fun of me and it might affect you,’ and she leans over gives me the biggest hug and she says, ‘Daddy, I will never make fun of you.'”
