Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer is reporting that the new WWE Universal champion Finn Balor suffered an arm injury during his match last night and there seems to be some fear that he will require surgery.
Meltzer adds that the champ will be undergoing an evaluation today at Raw to determine how bad it is and he was walking around in a sling to prevent further damage.
Meanwhile, Balor, along with fellow champion Charlotte, appeared on Good Morning America this morning in Manhattan on ABC to discuss SummerSlam and did not wear a sling on TV however he did sport one before and after the interview.
If Balor ends up requiring surgery, he would have to surrender the title in similar fashion that Daniel Bryan had to do after winning the WWE title at WrestleMania XXX and the Intercontinental title at WrestleMania 31.
Balor is the first person who came out of NXT and won a major title in his first title shot.
