WWE announced yesterday evening that Zelina Vega has been released from her contract, a surprise cut that has left many scratching their heads.
A statement on WWE.COM read, ”WWE has come to terms on the release of Zelina Vega. We wish her all the best in her future endeavors.”
Vega, real name Thea Trinidad, posted a tweet saying that she supports unionization and mere minutes later, WWE announced her release. It is unclear what led to her firing but Vega was very active on her Twitch and vocal about WWE’s ban on third party services.
WWE has threatened to terminate anyone who does not obey the new rules. The 29-year-old has been working with WWE since 2017, starting in NXT and then eventually moving to the main roster.
She is married to WWE Superstar Aleister Black.
Zelina Vega and Bianca Belair took their feud to another level when Belair showed up at Vega’s house and attacked her while she was doing a live stream on Twitch!
Vega was talking with fellow WWE personality Kayla Braxton, chatting about games when all of a sudden you hear someone knocking on her door. Vega instructs her cousin to go open the door and then, while off camera, Belair said “Hey Thea,” referring to Vega with her real name.
“What the hell are you doing in my house?” she replies. And Belair immediately shows her what she’s doing at her house as she tackles her, knocking the camera off as Braxton looks on in disbelief.
“Thea? Thea? Hello? Thea?” Braxton says as the connection eventually drops.
Vega and Belair are currently part of a feud which involves The Street Profits and Andrade and Garza.
